Re:Re:poesia
It is always a pleasure to read Pablo Neruda and Octavio Paz; in fact, Pablo Neruda's Poema XX is the only poem in Spanish that I know by heart. I lately don't have much time to admire such beautiful lines, but poetry is always so vibrantly alive that one can admire it anytime. Does any of you like Luis Cernuda or Antonio Machado? Of course, we do have great poets in all languages; it is certainly true that learning new languages can help us out to reach the original poems (I must admit that translation help but can never replace the original). Li Pai, Pessoa, Gil Vicente, Wordsworth, Longfellow, Ungaretti, Frost, Rumi, Mistral, de Castro, and other many more voices are awaiting for our attention. Nice meeting you all; I am writing from Spain.
Donde habite el olvido, en los vastos jardines sin aurora; donde yo solo sea memoria de una piedra sepultada entre ortigas sobre la cual el viento escapa a sus insomnios
-Luis Cernuda

Re:Any recommendations on any beginners texts in Portuguese???
Hi,
what do you want to learn? Portuguese or brazilian portuguese? Actually, they are very different. It's the same, for example, between argentinian and castellano from Spain. Latin american portuguese and spanish are different from european spanish or portuguese. Both are beautiful, it's just a question of choice.

Re:Re:poesia
[...] (Poema 20)
No doubt, Neruda is a great poet.

Hungarian-English Exchange
Hello -
I'm a university student interested in learning the Hungarian language. (I find the language beautiful and rich in its complexity and subtleties.) I love reading Hungarian literature (unfortunately, in translation). In exchange, I would be happy to assist someone with English (It's my specialty at university.)
