who uses AOL instant messenger?
AOL instant messenger is very popular in the U.S. How many people use it in the rest of the world? Is this just something common to Americans?

I use several protocols, but to clarify, AIM is generally american, a lot of people in the UK use MSN, and ICQ is popular in Germany.
I would reccomed you use Gaim - you can log into an MSN account, and AOL one, and many others, including ICQ and jabber. That way you can be connected to all of them.
