Hi! Can anyone tell me how to say:"What's your name?" and "My name is..." in gaelic? Thank you! (I can help you with Serbian if you are interested in that language!)

Re:show me gaelic
"What's your name?" = "Cad is ainm duit?"
"My name is X" = "X is ainm dom"
That's in Irish gaelic, if you're looking for scotts I can't help you, though I don't imagine it's all that different (they're essentially dialects of the one language).

Re:show me gaelic
Depending on your Version of Gaelic, it's different, in Scots Gaels its:
Dè 'n t-ainm a tha ort? (What is your name) Dè 'n t-ainm a tha oirre? ( What is her name) Dè 'n t-ainm a tha orra? ( What are they called)
And for yourself: 'S mise <name>.
Hope that helps some

This is how you say "my name is", in Gaelic
I only the Scottish Gaelic version but "my name is" could be both "Is mise"/"'s mise" = I am Pronounced= iss mee-shuh or
"----- is ainm dom" = "joe is my name" pronounced= iss ae-num dome.
there ya go...lol u can double check if you want...adios.

David bates..
David,
Ciamar a tha sibh?
I too am studying Gaelic (scottish) and am having a hard time finding people to practice with. You seem to know what you are talking about as you were the only one that had a good answer from all the sights I have looked at. The only other ones I could find were Irish Gaelic, which I will do eventually but if you would like to practice Scottish Gaellic with me, that'd be awesome=) Latha math Meredith.
