Re:Re:Re:Re:someone to talk to?
Hello ! As I am a new adherent, I meet some difficulties to understand how this website works !!! I have answered to your message yesterday, but it doesn't appears... so I try once more ! Here are some books I have recently read : Paulo COELHO : "L'alchimiste" Marguerite YOURCENAR "Les mémoires d'Hadrien". She was the first female accepted in the French Academy with her book "L'oeuvre au noir". Oscar WILDE "De Profundis" and "Le portrait de Dorian Gray" Alexandra DAVID NEEL : "Voyage d'une parisienne à Lhassa". She was the first european female to reach Lhassa when Tibet was still closed to foreigners. She was an exceptional character !
about SENEQUE, it's more moral philosophy. His books "Lettres à Lucilius" or his "Dialogues" can help anybody who need to know what are real values in life, and to bear an everyday life not always very simple !
Victor HUGO "Notre Dame de Paris"...
Could you give me some advices about russian litterature ?

Re:Re:someone to talk to?
Hello !
I am a 42 french woman. I am spending most of my time with my eyes in books ! Particularly classic french authors as Jean-Jacques ROUSSEAU, BALZAC, Emile ZOLA, Gustave FLAUBERT, Victor HUGO... Charles BAUDELAIRE... I have recently read some ancient authors as PLATON, SENEQUE. About the latter, his "Letters to Lucilius" remain for me a great memory. I like books about travels too. Do you know by instance, Alexandra DAVID NEEL ? I am trying to read "Travel in west Africa" written by Mary Kingsley. When I say : "I am trying", it is because It is an English version ! So as my level in english is quite average, it is not always very easy to understand ! Among other authors I appreciate very much, there are Stefan ZWEIG, Oscar WILDE. Well ! I am always looking for beautiful and memorable sentences because I like the words. If it is your case, you can answer to me !

Re:Does anyone know a good book????
If you like vampires I recommend the "Dark-hunter" series by Sherrilyn Kenyon, the "Dark" series by Christine Feehan or the "Darkyn" series by Lynn Veihl. For mysteries I prefer the lighter comedie style of Janet Evanovich's "Plum" novels. If you like more of a time travel romance I have really ejoyed the "highlander" books by Karen Marie Moning. She is also doing a fever series consisting of Dark Fever and Blood Fever so far however I would recommend reading the highlander books first since there are tie-ins.

Re:Re:Re:Re:Re:Re:Re:Harry Potter
Hi everybody!
I found the book really fantastic!!!!! J. K. Rowling has a style simple but, at the same time, exclusive: she can write about a magic world (something that doesn't exist in the reality) with simple, real words, which take you in the fantastic world she had created...as it's a place you can meet everywhere around you!
