the beat generation. Calling all lovers of Allen ginsberg.
hello there book lovers, I really love Allen ginsberg and all his works especially "howl, kaddish, sunflower sutra," is there anybody out there who knows him and feels the same intense admiration and love for him? I recently bought his collected poetry for $20 Australian currency. I really love the imagery of Kaddish and the saxophone ramblings of Howl. Is there no end to his genius?

Re:Book club, anyone interested?
I think a book club online would be a great idea. Maybe a different member could nominate a title every 2-4 weeks depending on the size of the book. Poetry is the genre that really moves me, and also I find that if you read a bilingual edition of poetry it also assists in learning another language; verbs have already been conjugated. I've been reading Pablo Neruda's poetry for years now and I can recommend all his work esp poem xx [twenty]. I would really enjoy being part of the book club [if there are any seats available]
Kind regards
Spiro

Re:Book club, anyone interested?
I think that sounds like a really fun thing to do...
I'm a complete bookworm, so it's always refreshing when there are other people that actually want to read. :)

I haven't actually read Jude Deveraux

Book club, anyone interested?
It would be nice to create a book club online or through emails. I watched this movie called the Jane Austin book club, the movie was interesting because the group read books from the author Jane Austin and then they discuss it once a month. They gaved their opinion and their thoughts about the book. I like to read romance novels,I used to read the Jude Deveraux books, they always got to me. I am thinking of reading books this summer just for the heck of it. I am thininking of reading Jude Jeveraux books or Austin, not sure yet. Anyone interested in in such a club?

Re:Re:I like crime novels
Hello! I have read the Da Vinci Code and it is the sequel to Dan Brown's "Angels and Demons". The DaVinci Code is about the Vatican's role in hidding the Holy Grail and the bloodline of Jesus. The book begins with the death of Jacques Saunière, a curator at the Louvre Museum, who's body is found. The strange thing is his body is positioned like Da Vinci's Vitruvian man, and there is a cryptic message written by his body and a bloody pentacle on his stomach. This is where the government calls in Robert Langdon, a Harvard professor who specializes in symbols, but what Langdon doesn't know is what the message next to Saunière's body says is "PS find Robert Langdon". The agent in charge is no other than Saunière's granddaughter Sophie Nevue and she has a message for Langdon . . if he doesnt listen to it then he could die.
Together Sophie and Robert must figure out what message her grandfather left behind. It the biggest secret that can change mankind.
I read this book in 1 day . . it was awesome!

Re:have you read...
Hello!
I have read "Kite Runner" and "A thousand splendid suns" is on my pending list.

I loved/hated "Kite runner", which I think is a good thing, since the point of a novel is to make you feel what the characters are going through. My point of view, my perspective, is that te main focus of the novel i about the loss and fragility of innocence. How tarnished the life of child can become by the senseless acts of hate between human beigns. But not all is grief and tragedy, there are some beautiful traits that are portrayed in a unique way; customs, values, hope, which are seen through the eyes of afghani innocence... There's just so much about this novel that I could keep writing forever.

"For you, a thousand times over"

Thanks for your time!
