Re:Re:The Unbearable Lightess of the Being
First of all I'd like to apologise for having mistaken the title. As Xi Di said, it's The Unbearable Lightness of Being. I had a Spanish interference there.
I'm from Spain and, language wise, I can speak both Spanish and Galician as native languages and English, French and German (from better to worse in that order). I'm here to learn Swedish and/or Japanese, although I'm open to other options.
Actually it's hard to explain how it changed my life, but I'll do my best. I've read different kind of books. I guess I could associate each of them to one period in my life. Once that period started to "worn out" (it's the single metaphore I can think of), I needed to go into a different stage. All genres ended up boring me, tiring me. I felt I had no personality in literature, although a lot of people admit they've had different favorites for different moments. However, I needed to stick myself to a genre that fulfilled me 100%. That's what happened with Kundera's masterpiece. I definitely felt it was that what I had kind of looked for so desperately... I guess this is the best way I can explain it.
Any recommendation... One of the other books that shocked me, in a good way of course, was Tokyo Blues: Norwegian Wood by Murakami. I'm not sure it's linked to Kundera's work but, anyway, I think it's worth reading it.
Have you felt anything similar with The Unbearable Lightness of Being? Where are you from?

Re:The Unbearable Lightess of the Being
Hello there.I would like to, first of all, ask you a question: in what way the book has changed your life?
I believe that The Unbearable Lightness of Being is already considered as one of the best in contemporary literature. The messages that Kundera attempts to get across in his book are inspiring, philosophical and thought-provoking.It's definitely a good read.
What other interesting books have you come across? I know there are many out there.Any good recommendations?
By the way, where are you from?
