Basically raised and born in US but currently studying in Manila, I need to learned basic communication skills. I'm studying to be an Occupational Therapist and I would be dealing mainly with patients. I'm looking for a safe and accessible place where we could conduct classes and of coarse a reasonable price for the class. Did have Filipino class101 in school but I still feel I inadequate and not comfortable communicating fluently. Hopefully you'll be able to help me. Thank you.

Dear Madam, Dear Sir,
I have recently arrived in the Philippines to work here for the Netherlands Red Cross. My partner works for a Dutch engineering company in Manila.
We are both very interested to learn the language of our new host country, Tagalog, and would like to find a suitable teacher for the both of us.
We our both native speakers of the Dutch language and fluent in English, but only speak a few words of Tagalog so far. We would at least like to become proficient enough to follow and hold basic conversations with colleagues and other people around us.
If possible we would like to receive the lessons at home or otherwise near our home in Makati. We are able to dedicate 3-4 hours a week over an extended period of time. Our work does require some travelling, so a degree of flexibility will be very much welcomed.

I enjoy lamguages and speak several. I like to be able to speak with my family who have limited English skills. My wife was a teacher and speaks English perfectly but huband and wife relationship is no good for teaching.
I have studied with Pimsleur on tape and with BYKI on the computer. I find the verbs the most difficult.I can speak some tagalog but need to gain confidence and speak more often. I would like to fit in as many lessons in as possible but this depends on my progress. I think patience is the quality that I look for.
