I moved to Athens few months ago and I want to learn Greek to have more opportunities to find a good job and communicate easily with everybody. My level of Modern Greek is a step over the beginner (I know alphabet, i speak with elementary sentences, I can read).

My name is Steve and I wish to learn Greek; I have lived on Crete for three years although I am now back in the UK. One day I will return to live in Greece and would like to be more proficient and confident.
I did have lessons for a few months but I am only really at phrasebook level.
As with most people learning languages it's the problems understanding Greek spoken to me that I have problems with. I may actually know the words they are saying to me but can't quite pick them out!
I would like one hour a week, on a Monday, and also some homework given too and recommendatio ns of text books that we could perhaps work with together.
I would prefer my teacher to actually be Greek and either male or a mature male or female.
