I am a beginner and my background is Indian. I would like to learn my home language. I understand maybe 25% of hindi. I can dedicate about 2 hours a week to lessons. I would like to have alot of verbal interactions in order to learn the language, rather than writing and reading. I have travelled to India now four times. Each time I go back I want more and more to actually speak the language (either Hindi or Tamil). I have never spoken either before, except with the children I work with (I can count to twenty in Tamil). I am willing to dedicate as much time as is needed to begin to speak Hindi and/or Tamil.
Basically I want to learn because I love India and I want to be able to speak to people there in their own native languages!
