Hi,
My name is Katie and I am a medical student. I want to learn Urdu because there are so many Asians here it would be useful when I am a doctor. I have never learnt any before - I don't even know how to say hello. I would like weekly lessons, either at evenings or weekends for maybe 2-3hours. I already do French classes on Thursdays, but any other day is fine. I find I learn best when I can speak in class and be asked questions, so a class with conversation would be great.

I am a freelance journalist, with a passion for South Asia, its culture and vibrant language. I have already spent a year working in Pakistan and am fluent in both Urdu and Hindi. My partner is from Karalla, and so I am keen to add to my language portfolio by learning Malayalam. The language will not only assist me on a personal level when interacting with new family and friends, but will also prove invaluable in terms of my career development, and with my additional ambition to learn both tamal and Sanskrit.
I would ideally like to find a teacher who would be able to offer face to face lessons, though I would be prepared to consider the use of taped and phone mediums. I would like to find a teacher who has a strong interest in Karalla life and culture, and would use music, media and the wider community as learning tools just as much as the more regimented forms of learning. As I am based in Scotland, the teacher would preferably be based locally, though I would be prepared to travel a reasonable distance. As I work fulltime, I would have to be realistic about my availability and time frames, though I currently anticipate being able to study for at least 5 hours per week.

I am totally new with no prior learning experience and wish to learn korean fluently. I need this experience for two reasons: 1: I enjoy Korean culture, especially Korean Movies and wish to futher enhance this experience. 2: I am looking to possibly work in Korea in the future.
As I am a beginner I will need to learn the basics up. I wish to learn specifically how to communicate in the language. I wish to dedicate hour long lessons two or three times a week to my language lessons. I would prefer my teacher to be a native speaker with background in teaching to English speaking students.
