I am an American who recently moved to Leuven, Belgium as part of a career transition. It is my goal to learn Dutch for many reasons - 1) to enable day-to-day conversations with local people, 2) the majority of my co-workers are Dutch or Flemish and I would like to speak with them in their native language, 3) career advancement - I am working for a Dutch company and feel that I must learn Dutch to advance within the company over time.
As I am a beginner to learning Dutch, I will need help in all areas of learning the language (grammer, conversation, pronunciation , sentance structure, etc). While I am picking up certain words, the area I need the most help in is the pronunciation . Some of the sounds in Dutch are unfamiliar and are taking me some time to get right. Additionally, I work in a scientific field, so any assistance in learning technical words would also be helpful.
I would like to spend 2-4 hours per week on language lessons, but I am limited to doing this on nights or weekends as I work full-time. I intend to sign up for university classes starting in September, but would like to work with a tutor 1-2 times per week until that time. If working with a tutor is very beneficial, I may continue to work with a private tutor in addition to the university classes. My schedule is flexible as I know that the summer means vacation time for many people.
In terms of a language tutor, I need to work with someone available on nights/weeken ds in the Brussels/Leuv en region of Belgium. A patient teacher who can help me get initiated in speaking Dutch and help me to use Dutch in conversations and everyday interactions is my initial goal. As time goes on, mastery of the language, grammer, and vocabulary will be the important factors.

I am a beginner in both Dutch and French. I have recently moved to Mechelen and would like to learn as much as possible in my 6 months here.
I am learning both languages for pleasure and to make my life easier here, it will also be helpful at work.
I am most interested in developing my conversationa l skills but also want to have sound grammar.
I would like to have one or two lessons a week of each language. I work full time, so possibly email or internet lessons would be better. I would like to discuss the best option.
