My mother is italian and we still have family in Laurenzana Italy. I went to Venice 2 years ago for a one week of immersion in classes every day.
I prefer improvement mostly in conversation.
I can dedicate 4 to 6 hours a week.
A language teacher should have patience and be able to laugh.

I am learning Italian because I like the challenge of learning a new language and my husband and I travel to Italy frequently. I have taken Italian language classes in Italy several times and have also had a tutor work with me in Victoria. I consider myself to be at an intermediate level. The area in which I feel I need the most improvement is conversation. I was hoping to work with a tutor twice a week (2 x 1.5 hours/week). It is important to me that the instructor be a fluent, natural speaker of the language.

I would like to move to Italy next year to teach English so I would really love to be able to speak the language when i arrive. Also i have some good Italian friends and would love to converse with them in their mother tongue. I am a beginner I have some vocabulary and understand very basic italian but I am definitely still a beginner. I would like to focus on grammar and conversation but if you know where i could get workbooks etc to practice at home that would be fantastic. Im not sure how much time i would need or like to dedicate definitely 2 hours a week but i would like to speak about costs and availability before i decided.

I would like to learn in a private lesson. Languages I am interested in are Mandarin, Spanish, Thai, German, Japanese. I am proficient in Japanese to the Intermediate level. The other languages I would start at the beginners level. I am looking for weekend classes or 1-2 weeknights. My teacher needs to be understanding of my job (military) so I can be called away and have to cancel our lesson at a moment's notice.
