I want to take lessons in Serbian as it is my husband's family's native language. A number of the older members of his family are not proficient in English and I would like to be able to converse with them more freely without relying on interpretatio n.
I am looking to spend one or two hours a week on the lessons, focusing particularly on conversation (I don't really need to learn how to read and write, but am willing to learn). As for the amount of lessons, it really could be indefinite.
I don't have particular qualities I am looking for in a teacher, just someone who is willing to meet in person rather than over the phone lessons.

I've been teaching myself Russian for the past few years as mainly a hobby but would like to travel within the next 3 years.
I'd say my Russian is at an intermediate beginners level.
Gramm ar it's my weakest point.
I'd like to contribute around 4 hours a week with a teacher.
As for what qualities I'd be looking for in a teacher.
One with a more personal approach as opposed to regurgitating lessons from only written sources presented.
