I will be living in Thailand beginning in July of 2009. I have previously lived in BKK for 10 months. I would like to learn some basic Thai for conversation, reading and writing. I have a text called 'Thai for Beginners' which I would like to use. I'm looking to work with a native speaking Thai tutor for 2-4 hours each week from late April until mid-July.

I would have to say I am a beginner. My ethnicity is Thai but I have grown up only speaking english. My mother's native language is Thai but I just never learned it and now, at 21 years old, I want to be able to speak Thai! I am able to understand basic conversations in the language but I have never really tried to speak in Thai.
I am looking for a teacher who can teach me conversation, pronunciation , and any techniques that will help me learn faster. I probably would like lessons at least once every two weeks (because I know my mom can always help me in between lessons in pronunciation since her native language is Thai).
I also have a boyfriend who wishes to learn and so we are looking for a private lesson for the both of us. I am definitely looking for a tutor who is patient, has an organized way of teaching, and who is able to give tips/techniqu es in how to pronounce words as best as possible.
