I studied Chinese for four months and lived in Taiwan for one year. My level of Chinese would be intermediate I believe. I just want to continue learning Chinese and improve my language ability. I want to learn Chinese because I think it will soon be a very important language to know in the future.

I am a beginner with very limited exposure to Mandarin. I am interested in learning for both business purposes and to challenge myself. I work full time so I would only be interested in evening/weeke nd instruction. I am willing to take the advice of the instructor in terms of hours per week spent on instruction. I am interested in meeting with friendly and encouraging instructors who have experience teaching newcomers to the Mandarin language.

I was born in Taiwan, and have pretty rudimentary speaking and reading, on I'd say a 2nd grade level of Mandarin at best.
I'd like to learn chinese for business purposes as well as to go back to china at some point to reconnect with my heritage.
My ultimate goal is actually to be able to read a newspaper, as my hope is that the ability to read will also aid my ability to speak, especially if I'm not in constant contact with other mandarin speakers.
I can only devote consistent times on the weekend, as I work a rotating shift with my job, and my availability is varies on that shift.
As for a teacher, someone knowledgeable , patient, and just a good personality overall.
