Hello, my name is Kim Reis and I am very interested in learning to speak Mandarin. As of now I only understand a few phrases in Madarin but I wish to become fluent in the language. I am in regular contact with someone who currently lives in Wuhan but there is a very large language barrier between us so conversations are very basic in nature. I plan to visit China next year so I wish to learn as much Mandarin as possible over the next 6 months so that I will be comfortable in travelling throughout the country. I would be interested in spending at least 2 hours a week in instruction; more if needed. The qualities that I am looking for in a teacher are very simple; someone who has enough experience working with beginners and who is located close to downtown Toronto.

Proficiency level is beginner. The reason why I am interested in learning Vietnamese is to communicate with my girlfriend's paretns. I have no knowledge of this language therefore I will be starting with zero knowledge. I have 3-4 hours available to dedicate to my language lessons. The qualities I am looking for in my teacher is patience and a good sense of humor.

I think French is a fantastic language. I really want to learn this language as well as to know the culture, history. I have no idea about this language now, but I can speak good English. So using either English or Mandarin to teach me is fine.
