I wish to improve my vocabulary and ability to communicate in Cantonese. I am of Chinese background but was raised in Canada. I have a basic level of Cantonese but wish to be able to discuss more complex issues i.e. world affairs, my opinion on various topics. At this stage learning to read and write is not a goal.
My teacher should be be someone who also speaks English well and understands North American culture and values.

I am basically from India. I happened to watch the brazilian movie 'cidade de deus' with English subtitles. since then i have a like for brazilian language. Also the english translated books of Paulo Coelha (originally brazilian), like Alchemist, Eleven minutes also inspired me a lot. Right now I am in canada on a official trip, so thought I do have some time in weekends to learn the language.
What I expect from the coaching.?
Understand and speak the language.
Re ad and write to a certain level.
