I have no experience in Mandarin and am a total beginner.I am currently in Shanghai for 1 month but will be returning in mid january 2006 for a period of one year.
I would like to spend at least 3 hours per week on structerd language lessons either on a one to one basis or in a small group lesson. I do not wish to participate in large group lessons as I do not feel that it would be productive for me.
I have been associated with China since 1994. I have lived and work in Shanghai for short periods on a number of occasions but have never had the time to learn the language. I would like to rectify this.

Hello,
I would like to learn basic Chinese. I am currently living in Hanoi, Vietnam, but I am planning to visit China in late March. I would like to begin learning as soon as possible and my priority is to learn basic phrases to help me in my travels through China.
I was wondering what sort of courses you may have available.
I am a 25 year old Australian with no knowledge of Mandarin.

I do not have any knowledge of Mandarin Chinese at all. I would like to learn the language because it is so widely spoken throughout the world, and I would like to travel and potentially work in China in the future.
I will want to focus on basic conversation first, and would want to devote several hours a week to this, including study time. I would like a teacher who is patient and very fluent and knowledgeable about the language.
