I have travelled to Italy several times and always wanted to learn the language. I am a complete beginner and would say that I am a slower than average learner when it comes it language so I will need a patient teacher. I am interested in learning Urdu so I can communicate with my boyfriend and his family in their native language. I've been having a difficult time finding an Urdu teacher, so I am open to learning Hindi and later picking up Urdu as the languages are quite similar. I have close to zero knowledge of the language -- besides watching Bollywood films! Needless to say, I'll need to start from square one. I would like to do one to two lessons a week, during the day (before 4 pm) and I don't mind travelling across the city to study! My goal is to obtain a basic knowledge of the language, I want to be able to understand and have basic conversations . I would also love to learn the alphabet, but writing is not as important to me in this case as oral communication .

I'd like to learn Mandarin without any special reason,
I just think languages are nice and learning a new one is wonderful.
S ince I am in Vancouver I am more confronted with the chinese culture than I am in Germany where I come from and I became interested in it.
My level is that I know nothing apart from asking *how are you?*
I work part time and would like to learn Chinese every free day I have which would be 2-5 days a week.
I'd like a native speaking teacher.
