My best friend and I are travelling to Italy next May for 2 weeks (part work and part holiday)
I learnt Italian at school (+20 yrs. ago, but never spoken since) and my friend has never learnt a language.
I am looking at getting us some basic lessons (for a gift for my friend) so we aren't completely ignorant, and can find our way around (we are driving for part of the trip)
We both are very busy with work and family commitment so we will need to co-ordinate and may be able to only meet up once a fortnight, or so.
I am not expecting conversation level italian in a just few short lessons and we are both very aware that to have some attempt a speaking Italian is appreciated.
We are both very much looking forward to immersing ourselves in the country (and the food!!) and I feel that learning some basics could make out trip even better!

Hi...we are moving to Lugano on the 3rd week of March 2013, I want to prepare my girls (ages 5 and 9) , me and my husband with the Italian and english languages. Specially for the girls who will be attending TASIS school on August.
I´m searching in advance for a private tutor as I want the girls to start their lessons as soon as we get there, we want to make this transition for the girls as smooth as possible. My husband and I speak very fluent english , the girls are studing english at school, but they understand it better than they can talk and is not the same as attending a full time english and/or italian school. We are spanish speakers
