Hi there,
I hope this finds you well. I a student and currently doing an internship here in Singapore until the beginning of December. My girlfriend is vietnamnese, hence I want to surprise her with some acquired language skills until then.
I am also trying on learning on the computer and with an audio CD, but the main issue for me is the pronounciatio n (as I am native german, everything sounds hard and angry :D )
So if it would be possible, I am interested in 2-3 classes a week from now on (ASAP) until December, preferably in the evening after 6:30/7 depending on your location. I would prefer small group tutoring, but 1:1 would be fine as well.

I'm a graduate student studying Women and Gender Studies with a focus on Asian countries. My family is Vietnamese and it technically was my first language until I lost it as I began school. I can understand it, more or less, in casual settings/at home, and can read beginner level things (I know my letters, accents, etc.), but my vocabulary is lacking and I have trouble speaking even the easy stuff. I would like to get to the point of reading the newspaper or fiction novels in Vietnamese someday. Reading skills are more important to me at the moment because I would, someday, like to use Vietnamese texts for my work in Academia.
I would dedicate an hour per week to lessons.
I would prefer a rather strict teacher (haha) that is communicative , and very knowledgeable about vietnamese novels, but the latter is not necessary at the moment.
