I have no experience with another language. I would like to learn a middle eastern language such as Turkish or Arabic, so I would be a beginner. I am in second year at University of Toronto and I am majoring in Middle Eastern Civilization, and Religion. I feel learning a Middle Eastern language would help my understanding in class, and give me a practical skill that would be valuble for career advancement. I would like to emphasize learning in conversation. I also have a part-time job, so lesson availability would have to be flexible, however I am a dedicated student and would put as much time into lessons as needed. I am looking for an energetic teacher, with a flexible schedule and a lot of patience, this being my first 'second' language.

I am beginer; I can converse in Hindi. I am learning Urdu because of interest mostly. I have never taken Urdu classes before so both conversation and grammar will need improvement. I can dedicate 4-6 hours a week on my lessons.

I currently have very little knowledge of the Hindi language.
I am very interested in learning mostly for pleasure.
I am interested in learning the language in it's entirety (reading, writing, listening and speaking), but with specific emphasis on conversationa l speaking.
I am looking for 1-2hr instruction/w eek.
While I am currently attempting to learn from a book, it does not provide me with the opportunity to speak and practice what I have learnt and thus impeding on my ability to move past the introductory level. I am happy with the book I currently have, but would appreciate the advice of a native speaker. So I am looking for a teacher who would be able to either supplement the book or provide lessons that would break up the language lessons into grammar, reading, writing and speaking excerises. But more importantly, I need someone who would be able to practice conversations with me.
