Hello!
I have been interested in the Japanese language for some time, in particular with respect to the effect language has on people's thoughts, ideas, and cultures and conversely how thoughts, ideas, and cultures influence the development of language. Recently, I have begun studying informally with books, but find this to be insufficient. It bears little resemblence to how a language is natively acquired: by imitation, by trial and error, by speaking, by correction, by interaction.
My present knowledge of Japanese is limited to the most basic constructs and vocabulary. The primary resource I have been using is ã¿ã‚“ãªã®æ —¥æœ¬èªžåˆç´š Ｉ ã€minna no nihongo shokyuu I】 and I am familiar with most of the material through chapter 14.
I would greatly appreciate the opportunity to learn and study the language with a native Japanese speaker.
S ince I work as full-time employee, I am only available in the evenings and during weekends, but am flexible with times. I would like to dedicate at least two to three evenings a week to learning and studying Japanese.
