The need for me to learn Turkish is that I am married to a turkish/austr alian. His parents do not speak a word of english and communication with my inlaws and his family is very difficult and minimum.
I am more interested in learning how to speak turkish than learning reading/writi ng/grammar.

I am trying to learn Turkish because I am newly married and my wife is Turkish. Her mother and father-in-law speak fluent English, but her Father and mother-in-law do not. I have traveled to Turkey several times and would like to be able to interact with the people and explore the language further.
I have a very, very, basic understanding of the language. I understand some common phrases, greetings and salutations. I feel that I would need to improve on pretty much everything.
I am willing to dedicate Friday - Sunday to learning Turkish. I travel for business Monday - Thursday, so I am only in Chicago on weekends.
I am looking for a teacher who is understanding and willing to walk me through some of the sounds of the language that are not so familiar to me.
