I am German/Russia n who has lived in Dubai for 16 years, and possess fluency in both English and Russian. I have studied German in the past two years, during my summer visits to Berlin.
La st year I took a 2 month intensive program in Hartnachschul e Berlin, and this year I took something similar in IFS Berlin, which was followed by a month of private tutoring.
I would say that my level would be somewhat between Beginner and Intermediate, and that I need attention in my grammar, as well as constant interaction.
Based on my experience, I prefer private tutoring. I am looking for a tutor who has his/her own methods which tend to be 'out of the box' and do not only focus on grammar, but also speaking, as well as include different activities which make it enjoyable to learn the language.
