Dear Prospective Tamil Teacher,
Hello! I am very interested in taking Tamil lessons in the NYC area starting as soon as possible. My background will allow me to pick up Tamil easily, because I grew up with a Tamil/Kannada dialect at home. However, I have never been able to speak either language fluently! I would classify myself as a beginner for 'pure Tamil' and want to be able to speak conversationa lly. The reason I am now interested is to be able to speak with my fiance's family (they are from Madras). I can dedicate two - three hours per week to learning Tamil.

I would like to learn tamil from scratch which is from the very beginning, it is because we are in a multi cultural society, whereby i had indians friends, so that i wish could communicate in tamil. In addition i have been to tamil movies, but the translation is only 5 - 10mins for the whole movie, which is so disappoiting. I have no idea why the translator only translates for a short part of the movie and then go sleep!! I would like to have a native tamil teacher which had teaching tamil classes as experience.
