Beginner level German. Can carry a very limited text conversation with someone (email or im).
Plannin g on going to Germany in 2008 for an extended holiday with a view to moving. Want to know the language before I get there, or at least a decent start in it.
I would prefer informal over formal knowledge although obviously need to know some formal as well.
Ideall y I would like to do 1-2 hours of lessons per week in person with perhaps a few email or im conversations if possible.
I want a teacher who is friendly, easy going and patient! Would prefer to travel to the teacher rather than have them travel to me.

I have been studying Japanese for the last two years in Tokyo. I passed the 4th kyu JLPT exam last year and am looking to take level 3 this year. In Japan I studied with a private teacher using AJALT 'Japanese For Busy People' and have just completed book 3.
I have a close connection with Japan as I study Aikido and plan to travel back to Tokyo on a regular basis. As such I am looking to develop my conversation skills in particular.
I study Japanese on a daily basis on my own and would like to take 2-3 lessons per week with a teacher.
I would be looking for fun and varied lessons covering all areas of language acquisition with a particular focus on developing speaking skills.
I will be living in Melbourne from the middle of June 2007.
